The Sheriff’s Department’s resident post station in Earp, California (along the Parker strip of the Colorado River) is utilized by California Highway Patrol, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Sheriff’s Department for various purposes. Over the past year, the station’s underground water well system has failed to produce adequate water to the facility. The Facilities Management Team examined the issue taking into consideration; the size of the facility, number of staff, the amount of water needed, the cost, and the reliability of the existing system. After thorough evaluation, the team determined that the most reliable and cost-effective system would be to install an above-ground water tank. The idea and concept are working very well and the staff who utilize the facility are happy with the new system and the quality of the water.
