The Women, Infants, and Children program of the Department of Public Health in Barstow had expressed their need for a break room. In response, Facilities Management worked closely with the department to transform an existing office into a comfortable break room. The collaboration involved everything from designing the layout of the space to soliciting bids and coordinating construction to ensure that day-to-day activities were not impacted. The final product not only directly met the department’s request but also provided a comfortable space for employees to take a break from their day, which will help enhance their work environment and promote employee well-being.
