On Monday July 1, 2024, the second of two major concrete pours were completed as part of the Valley Communication Center Project. While the foundation construction continues, the County’s contractor, Swinerton, is finalizing design elements and major materials procurement. Notable “fun facts”:
• 1,800 cubic yards of concrete
• 30 concrete finishers onsite
• Future isolator pedestal areas delineated with rebar
• Project site opened at midnight, first batch delivered around 1:00am
• Two batch plants utilized in Lytle Creek and Highland
• Two concrete pumpers with a spare onsite for backup
• Final load pumped at approximately 8:00 am
• Finishers scheduled to be completed around 10:00 am, cleanup until noon
• Rebar installers are currently working on additional pour areas and taking advantage of the cooler morning temperatures
• ~30 Pizzas to be served to site personnel
