Project Management Division completed the Mojave Narrows Dry Campsite Path of Travel Project on April 25, 2023! This project consisted of the renovation of two (2) dry dirt campsites into concrete paved Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible campsites. Each consisted of a dirt tent site and ADA amenities including van accessible campsite parking, BBQ, picnic table, waste & recycling receptacle, and fire pit. Each campsite required modifying the existing grade and extending the campsite space to accommodate an additional 1,463 square feet.
This was the first phase of the overall vision of removing barriers to access for those with disabilities to enjoy the amenities and splendor of Mojave Narrow Regional Park. Future phases planned include a new accessible combination shower and restroom facility and ADA parking directly across from the two new accessible dry campsites.
