This project successfully rehabilitated deteriorated concrete surfaces throughout the recreation yards and replaced the basketball courts in the POD 1 and POD 2 patios, addressing critical safety and security concerns.

The work included the removal and replacement of damaged concrete sections affected by extensive cracking, surface lifting, and uneven settlement that had created significant trip-and-fall hazards. The basketball courts in PODs 1 and 2 exhibited substantial concrete deterioration with exposed reinforcing steel (rebar), requiring full replacement. The installation of new concrete eliminated the risk of injury from exposed metal, restored the structural integrity of the courts, and prevented further deterioration.

The rehabilitation effort returned the recreation areas to safe, functional, and serviceable conditions, enhancing usability and extending the useful life of the facilities. In addition to improving safety, the project enhanced security and facility conditions by removing loose and deteriorated concrete, reducing potential hazards, and creating a safer, more reliable recreational environment.

Completion of this project significantly enhanced the overall safety, security, and operational reliability of the recreation yards and basketball courts, providing a durable and dependable environment for daily recreational activities.
