The Cottages playground area recently underwent repairs and improvements to address deteriorated concrete, eliminate potential safety hazards, and refresh the overall appearance of the outdoor space.
The project included removal of the existing foam playground surfacing, followed by a thorough evaluation of the exposed concrete. Damaged and deteriorated areas were repaired and patched as needed to provide a smoother, safer, and more uniform surface while preserving the existing concrete wherever possible.
The project also addressed abandoned metal sleeves remaining from previously removed playground equipment. The sleeves were cut and ground flush with the surrounding concrete to eliminate potential trip hazards, and the affected areas were patched to provide a durable and consistent finished surface.
Additional improvements included professionally painting the surrounding concrete block wall, providing a refreshed appearance and enhancing the overall presentation of the playground area.
Collectively, these improvements have created a safer, cleaner, and more inviting outdoor space while extending the useful life of the existing facility and supporting its continued use.
