Highland Creek Housing & Wellness Campus includes a new 29,395-square-foot permanent supportive housing building for CDH and DAAS residents and a 13,148-square-foot Substance Use Disorder Treatment Center. Existing facilities will also be re-purposed into a 5,459-square-foot Recuperative Care Center, a 3,200-square-foot cafeteria, and a community center.
To maintain continuous services during construction, 21 interim housing units will be temporarily relocated. Once completed, the campus will provide 32 recuperative care beds, a 16-bed Substance Use Disorder treatment facility, a community center, and access to on-site case management and supportive services.
A central courtyard will provide outdoor space for wellness activities, recreation, group programming, cultural activities, and community events. The campus will also include a pet-friendly area with kennels and a dog park, allowing residents with pets to safely care for their animals while residing on campus.
Together, these features are designed to support residents’ daily needs, recovery, stability, and greater independence. The completed campus is anticipated to serve approximately 350 residents annually.
The project is further supported by a $3 million grant from the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation. The grant will fund additional campus enhancements, including furnishings for the housing units and Recuperative Care Center, healing gardens, shaded seating and rest areas, covered pedestrian pathways, and campus-wide wayfinding.
These improvements will complement the overall campus by creating an accessible and welcoming environment that supports connection, wellness, and recovery.
